Winning the Spiritual Battle in Your Mind
The greatest spiritual battle every believer faces happens between their own ears. When sudden waves of fear, lust, discouragement, or condemnation hit out of nowhere, Scripture calls them "fiery arrows of the evil one" (Ephesians 6:16).
The Sword of the Spirit Is the Spoken Word
In Ephesians 6:17, Paul writes: "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." In the original Greek, the word used for "word" here is not logos (the written volume of Scripture), but rhema—the spoken utterance of God's Word in the heat of battle.
"I rebuke the thought of lust in Jesus' name. Ask God for a clean heart and a steadfast spirit. Psalm 51:10."
